What we collect
Account details — your name, email address and password (stored hashed), plus an optional phone number, job title and bio if you add them.
Volunteering records — the organizations you belong to, your roles, events you sign up for, check-in and check-out times, and the hours logged or approved for you.
Location at check-in — when you check in to an event, we record your coordinates at that moment to confirm you were at the event. We do not track your location at any other time.
Audit entries — administrative actions inside an organization (for example approving hours) are recorded with who did them and when.
02
How we use it
To run the service: showing you your events and hours, letting administrators manage their organizations, verifying attendance, and sending account emails such as password resets. We do not use your data for advertising.
03
Who can see it
Administrators and moderators of an organization you belong to can see your name, email, roles, event sign-ups, check-ins and hours within that organization. Other members can see your name and roles.
We do not share your data with third parties except the infrastructure providers that host the service (our database and authentication run on Supabase; the website is served by Vercel).
04
Where it lives and how long
Data is stored in the United States. We keep it for as long as your account or your organization's records exist. When you ask us to delete your account we remove your personal details; organizations may keep anonymised hour totals.
05
Your choices
You can edit your profile and change your password in Settings, leave an organization at any time, and ask us to export or delete your data by emailing hello@hive-app.org.
06
Cookies
HIVE uses only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember interface preferences. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.
